A bit about me

Fashion for Students is an independent blog on fashion for students specifically second-hand shopping giving insight into a budget-friendly but sometimes overwhelming shopping experience. Driven by my own love of finding bargain second-hand items while searching through rows upon rows of clothing.

My style is ‘skater boy-esque’ but with my own unique twist making it distinct from the umbrella of the style. I have some examples of my fits, let me know what you think!

However, there came a time when the style changed. The clothes became looser and more relaxed, and proportions became important. It changed from polo shirts and bomber jackets to oversized sweatshirts, puffer jackets and boxier hoodies.

The blog was founded by Malachi Thompson, a University of Portsmouth student. Malachi has focused on reviews of local second-hand shops but doesn’t just stick to one lane letting you know how to get the most out of vintage kilo sales and discussing fashion-related issues and the occasional delve into music.

I had a phase growing up of wearing stereotypical outfits, albeit with very little control over what I wore, and desperately wanting to own as many tracksuits as possible following the mainstream fashion for boys my age at the time. I remain least proud of my early teens and younger with the jeans and football shoes which surely haunt the history of many my age.

New colours were experimented with favourites being pastels, earth tones and darks. This may seem like a lot of colours but if you looked in my cupboard the colour range is nowhere near a rainbow.

However, while I continue to expand and grow my clothing palette, my aim for this blog is that it will expand yours too and maybe give you ideas for your own unique style.
